The FTSE 100 closed up 4.65 points at 6,336.48. The biggest faller of the day was International Consolidated Airlines Group, falling 4.02%. The biggest climber of the day was Tullow Oil, climbing 3.59%.
Energy and mining stocks have rallied today, following a recovery in crude oil and industrial metal prices. The UK Oil and Gas index surged 3.4%, helped by a jump in shares of oil companies such as BP, BG Group and Tullow Oil.
