The FTSE100 advanced to a 14 year high as it closed up 21.33 points at 6,873.08.
Persimmon and Barratt Homes were the biggest climbers of the day, up 3.24% and 3.21% respectively after a report showed house prices in London’s financial core climbed 15.7% percent in the last year.
Easyjet was the biggest faller of the day, down 4.16% after saying per-seat revenue will post low single digit percentage growth in the second half of 2014. The outlook reflects caution about the impact on sales of the looming World Cup competition in Brazil.
