The FTSE100 closed up 84.50 points (1.30%) at 6,604.89 as Easyjet led the FTSE 100 recovery.
Easyjet share price closed up 3.68% as the British airline upgraded its first half outlook by 25%. Easyjet announced it expected to record a first half loss between £55m and £65m, better than its initial forecasts of losses between £70m and £90m. The loss was expected as the airline usually reports a first half loss during the winter period when fewer people fly, the equivalent figure last year was £61m.
The FTSE100 was held back after data showed that German business confidence fell for the first time in five months in March as concerns over the crisis in Crimea weighed.
