The FTSE 100 continued to climb today as bid speculation around index heavyweight Vodafone led the market higher.
Vodafone was the biggest climber of the day as it closed up 3.01% at 236.50p.
Speculation about a takeover has been surrounding Vodafone for several months, however the speculation is starting to intensify as the move to sells its stake in U.S. mobile phone company Verizon Wireless moves ever closer.
The FTSE100 climbed approximately 2.5% for the week – its steepest weekly rise since December. This rise has helped the FTSE 100 recover from the early 2014 losses and is now up 1.3% for the year.
CAT stock is currently up 0.57% at $97.47
Royal Bank of Scotland climbed 1.24% to closed at 360.1 – 0.27% above its TSP of 360p.
