The FTSE 100 hit a new 6 week low as it closed down 44.78 points at 6,465.66 (a fall of 0.7%).
The FTSE100 slumped further after weak U.S. manufacturing data raised doubts over the strength of the U.S. economic recovery.
Over the last fortnight, the index has dropped 5.3% caused mainly by concerns over emerging markets.
CAT stock is currently down 1.55% at $92.49.
Lloyd’s shares dropped 3.97% to 79.99p after it announced it had set aside a further £1.8bn in the fourth quarter to compensate customers who were mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI).
