Mothercare Reduces Losses

International sales have helped Mothercare to reduce losses to £11m.

Mid-way through its 3-year turnaround, the UK operations made their first half yearly profits since 2010/11. Unprofitable stores are being closed with investment being made into products and delivery to improve the UK market in order to shake off competition from supermarkets and online rivals.

Operating in a total of 59 countries, 87 new stores aboard have helped the financial performance of the retailer.
